giving thanks.

It's what Jesus did. When the disciples gathered around the table, around the feast spread before them, Jesus took the bread, broke it, and gave thanks.

And this is what we do today. Gathering around a table spread with a feast, we give thanks. We remember, we count, all the things we're grateful for. Some call them blessings, others - gifts, still more - grace.

"Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.
Come before his presence with singing.
It is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves;
We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
And into his courts with praise:
Be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
And his truth endureth to all generations."
Psalm 100
