And the rain came down.

I woke up this morning and the world was dark. Dark clouds swollen with rain. It had rained all night and was going to rain again soon.

The sun would poke out and then disappear again...

There's something comforting about rain, even when the lighting strikes and the thunder crashes

when it's hard to see outside...

when the rain comes down, down, there is a feeling of safety. The Lord gives rain in season, it falls on parched ground and the earth receives it. I walked out in the rain gathering daffodils, bright yellow against the darkened sky. The splashing sound of puddles, of wet grass, of grateful birds, and I want to be a part of it, gratefully receiving the rain on my skin, lifting my face like the daffodils, splashing in those puddles and laughing.

"As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."
